This Convention, together with the Recommendation concerning Labor Statistics, 1985 (No. 170), and resolutions of international conferences of labor statisticians, constitute international standards on labor statistics. Each ILO member country ratifying the Convention undertakes to regularly collect, process and publish labor statistics in order to cover the main areas of labor statistics: economically active population, employment, unemployment; average earnings and average hours of work; wage structure and distribution; labor costs; consumer price indices; household expenditure; occupational injuries; and labor conflicts. Each country shall indicate at the time of ratification the article or articles in respect of which it accepts the obligations contained in this Convention.
