Annotation: This Recommendation supplements the 1970 Convention No. 131 on Minimum Wage Fixing and contains criteria for determining the level of minimum wage, description of the scope of application and procedure for fixing minimum wage. It is noted that the main purpose of establishing a minimum wage should be to provide wage earners with the necessary social protection in respect of minimum acceptable wage levels.
