The standards established by this resolution aim to guide countries in updating and further developing their statistical programs concerning labor relations.
The resolution on labor relations concerns:
(a) the distribution of power between people who work and the economic units for which they work or for which work is performed; and
(b) the economic risks arising from contractual or other relationships on the basis of which work is performed.
These statistics may refer to all forms of labor activity, including own-account production, wage labor, unpaid interns and apprentices, volunteer labor, and other forms.
The resolution provides for:
(a) a comprehensive conceptual framework for labor statistics;
(b) a revised International Classification of Status in Employment (designated as ICLS 2018);
(c) the International Classification of Status at Work (designated as ICLS-2018) as a reference classification covering all forms of employment;
(d) concepts, definitions and guidelines for the collection and processing of statistics on employment status and cross-cutting variables. -
