For statistical purposes, the definition of «part-time worker» provided in the Convention is used.

The Convention establishes rules to ensure that part-time workers receive conditions equivalent to those of full-time workers in the areas of wages, social security, maternity protection, annual paid leave, etc., including monetary payments can be calculated in proportion to working hours.
